God and country on the Real News
Listening to these people in this story talk about how they really believe the Iraq war has helped keep them safe is singularly depressing to me. Earlier today I spoke to Arvin Hill, not about this video but in general terms about people's capacity for willful gullibility and denial, and he compared it to drug addiction.

Hi Jonathan,
Depressing indeed. The guy who said the economy was more important than Iraq shows how callous some Americans really are or perhaps self-centered is more accurate. But I think we can put much of the blame on the news media for keeping people misinformed on key issues. Of course the candidates themselves are great at misinformation and certainly add much to the confused state of so many people. However that woman who kept saying evangelical this and evangelical that made me want to scream but it would do no good. Obviously evangelicals are the center of the universe and everyone else can go to hell …oh wait.
The great thing is our future is in the hands of people like these.
Sleep well.
